Hunt, Then Build 🏹➡️🏗️
The longer I work with Recruitment and Search Firm Owners, the more I am convinced they fall into two categories: CHASERS 🏃♂️ and BUILDERS 🏗️.
The CHASERS are like the hunters of old… 🏹
They see an opportunity, and they chase it. Some days, they return with a fresh wildebeest 🦌 to eat for a few days, while other times, they come home empty-handed for days on end… 😣
Hunters are always chasing something new… ✨
They get drawn in by every shiny opportunity 🌟, desperately pursuing every hint of business in the hopes of making a sale with anyone willing to pay… 💸
The thrill of the hunt is exciting 🎯, but you must hunt every day to prevent the food from running out… 🍽️
Eventually, every hunter grows tired 😓 and wishes for easier days…
The BUILDER is different… 🧱
All the great civilizations were BUILT… Roads 🛣️. Infrastructure 🏙️. Aqueducts 💧…
All the great Recruitment and Search empires are built with systems and sustainability in mind… ♻️
The builder isn’t after just a single meal 🍲. He’s building today to provide for tomorrow… 🔧
In the short term, the hunter might shout ahead 📣. But if you want leads and prospects to come to you CONSISTENTLY 🔄, you’ve got to perfect one hunting strategy at a time 🏹 and BUILD a system from it… 🏗️
HUNT, THEN BUILD… 🏃♂️➡️🏗️
INVENT, THEN INSTALL… 💡➡️⚙️
Your goal is (or should be) to establish a marketing system that hunts for you 🎯, so you can generate new leads, business inquiries, and clients on demand—without spending long, hard hours on the phone 📞 cold-calling or knocking on doors 🚪… A system that works even if your network is small… 🤝

The above statement is most commonly used to illustrate the significance of interest earned on financial investments… 💰

This is why marathon runners very rarely, if ever, run the full distance of a marathon during training… 🏃♂️
Instead, they make sure they train regularly, running shorter distances, gradually increasing their endurance for the big race… 🏅
How they perform on race day is the compound effect of every single training session they’ve had up to that point… ⏳
The same is relevant when it comes to relationships ❤️, dieting 🥗, building a house 🏡… Pretty much anything you can name!
It’s very rare that greatness 🌟, mediocrity 😐, or even complete failure ❌ happens in a single moment…
It’s the compound effect of several previous moments… ⏰
And of course, the same is true for your Recruitment or Search Business… 📈
Recruiters who understand this earn it 💼, and those who don’t, pay it… 💸
That means whatever you want to achieve this year is not going to happen in a single moment… It will be the result of your daily, weekly, and monthly habits… 📅
Sometimes you need to sit back and ask yourself… 🤔
“If I repeat the same actions I did over the past 30 days for the next year… Will I achieve my target?” 🎯
If your answer is no, it’s time for a change, Drew… 🔄
I’ve found that for the vast majority of Recruitment and Search Business Owners, they’ve spent the last 30 days doing activities that didn’t even get them the results they wanted this year, let alone next year… 📉
