I learned a new word over the weekend…
“Kaizen” 🇯🇵✨
Kaizen is a Japanese term meaning change for the better or continuous improvement… 🔄💡
You’re almost certainly familiar with the concept, even if not the word… 🤔
But it’s something I see a lot of Recruitment and Search Business Owners forget, neglect, and overlook… 🧠❌
Almost daily, I speak to Founders who boast about how much experience they have… 👊💼
“I’ve got more than 25 years in the industry, blah blah blah…” 🎤🙄
Full disclosure, I’ve even said things like this myself. 😅
But buddy… none of that means anything if you haven’t improved in the past 10 years… 📆🚫
Or even in the past 1 year… 🕒
You’re still doing the same things, the same way, getting the same results—while newbies are springing up left, right, and center, bringing in more revenue than you with less experience. 💼💸🌱
Kaizen! 🔄
Continuously look for ways to improve and get better! 📈✨
And that could be in terms of revenue… 💰
Profits… 📊
Even free time… 🕰️
But don’t stand still! 🚶♂️⛔
Everything Has Consequences ⚖️✨
A while back, I sat down to watch a movie called The Purge: Anarchy on Amazon Instant Video. 🎬🍿
I’ll try not to spoil the plot for you in case you haven’t seen it and plan on watching it. 🤫
Basically, it’s set in America, around the year 2030, where, in order to lower crime rates and poverty, they create the ‘Purge.’ 🔪🏙️
For one night each year, all crimes are legal. No emergency services, no law—nothing! 🚨❌
Fancy a new TV? You can go out and steal one. 📺
Someone cuts you off in traffic? You can run them off the road. 🚗💥
Someone pissed you off? You can go out and kill them. 💀
You can literally do anything you want, with zero consequences. Zero repercussions. 🚫⚖️
Until the following year, at least! ⏳
Your neighbor could be sweet and friendly to your face 364 days of the year, but on the night of the Purge, they might come for your head just because you didn’t sign for their Amazon Prime delivery when they were out. 📦😳
Crazy, right? 🤯
Well, it got me thinking… 💭
Pretty much everything you do—or don’t do—has consequences. ⚖️
You eat loads of junk food and don’t work out? → You gain weight. 🍔➕🏋️♀️
You stay up late at night? → You feel exhausted the next day. 🕒😴
You get the picture. 🎯
And guess what… 🤔
The current state of your recruitment business is a direct result of your past actions. 📈
And the future of your business will be determined by the decisions you make right now. ⏳💼
