Two Crippling Factors š§

A lot of the Recruitment and Search Business Owners I speak to are crippled by one of two things⦠š¤
Fear ā Theyāre so scared of failure or of being criticised by their peers that they end up doing nothing and sticking to what they know, even though itās not getting them what they want. šØ
Commitment ā They like to talk the talk but canāt commit to doing something consistently for more than a week before throwing in the towel. Maybe it's because they get scared, maybe it's because they're lazy... š
Either way, it's a problem... š«
Sometimes itās a combination of the two⦠š
Just so youāre clear⦠ā
IF⦠And I mean IF⦠you want to grow your Recruitment or Search Business you canāt let fear cripple you AND youāre going to have to be committed to working hard and doing some VERY uncomfortable things⦠šŖ
Achieving better results in your business is impossible if youāre going to let yourself be crippled by one or both of the two⦠š

Proving Yourself to Hiring Managers šµļøāļø
I donāt know which Recruiter needs to hear this⦠š¤
But you do not need to work with a client on contingency terms even once before they will be willing to use your services on an exclusive or retained basisā¦ š«š¼
I donāt know where this school of thought comes from, but itās something Iāve been seeing a lot recently⦠š¤·āļø
And yes, Iām sure there are cases where it has worked⦠But my point is you donāt HAVE to⦠š¤Ø
With the right sales process, you could have gotten the Exclusive/Retained agreement the first time around⦠š”
The sales process would give the client all the proof required⦠š
Thing is⦠If you fill the role on contingency the first time of ask, all you prove to the client is that they donāt need to have Exclusive/Retained terms to get that level of service⦠š¤
This doesnāt exactly work in your favor⦠š āļø
It trains the client to be disloyal because thereās always going to be someone willing to offer the service for free even when you try to move the relationship to Exclusive/Retained terms⦠š
And if you donāt fill the role the first time of asking, youāre justifying the client's reason for not wanting an Exclusive/Retained agreement in the first place⦠š
In the vast majority of cases, itās a scenario you canāt win⦠š
This is why the majority of contingency Recruiters who want to make the shift get stuck in the same cycle⦠š
They work with a client on contingency to āproveā themselves⦠They either fill the role or donāt, but either way, the vast majority of clients move on and they have to repeat the process all over again⦠š
