You’ve probably met people like this before…
People that are so desperate for a relationship that when they finally get one, they think their new partner can do no wrong…
They meet a guy or girl, and then they’ll literally worship the ground they walk on…
They idolise them in every way and consider themselves lucky just to be in the same room as that person…
No harm in doing this once in a while … or for a short period of time I guess.
But the problem is… When you consistently put someone on a pedestal, you leave him or her with no choice but to look down on you…
It’s human nature!
It may not happen straight away… It could take weeks, months or even years…
But eventually, they’ll start treating you like they’re better than you are… And you can’t really blame them, because that’s what you’ve led them to believe…
And this isn’t just exclusive to the dating world…
The same applies when working with your clients…
And not just in this industry, the same applies in other businesses too…
But most Recruitment and Search Firm owners get this so wrong!
They’re so desperate for business, that as soon as they get a sniff of interest from a prospect, they quickly put them on a pedestal and idolise everything they do… And so eventually…
They get treated with little respect and made to bend over backwards to meet the clients every demand…
There’s nothing wrong with meeting your client’s demands in terms of what results they want to get out of your service…
Results are what they’re paying for… But everything else should be on your terms and not theirs!
That includes your price…
How you deliver your service…
When you deliver your service…
Who you’re going to be delivering the service to…
And whether or not you want to deliver the service at all… Because at the end of the day, it’s your choice who you do and don’t work with…
And it’s your choice how you work!
It’s one of the beauties of having your own business…
They can take it or leave it….
But it should always be on your terms!
But it’s all but impossible to enforce those terms on someone who thinks they’re better than you are…
Plus they’re more likely to leave you as soon as someone better comes along… Someone that’s closer to the level that you put them on!…
Something to think about:
But here’s the important thing…
The reason most Recruitment and Search Firm Owners get this wrong is because they’re so desperate for business they can’t help but worship the ground their clients walk on…
They have no idea where their next client is coming from so when one actually shows up they come across desperate…
Like the guy or girl who’s desperate for a date…
Desperation kills sales…
And if you’re sick of desperately chasing clients and would rather they come to you ready to buy… Here are four ways I can help…
