Ducks vs Eagles

There’s an old saying that I sometimes use to when talking to Recruitment and Search Firm Owners who want to drive their business forward to the next level…

“If you want to fly with the eagles you can’t swim with the ducks…”

You see, one of the big mistakes I see Recruitment and Search Firm Owners making is adopting what I call the “copy cat’ mentality…

Very early on, they’ll be looking at what the Recruitment and Search Firm Owners around them are doing and pretty much try to do exactly the same…

Their message, their service and how they market and promote their business will be based on how the Recruitment or Search Firm down the road does things…

The problem with that is… Chances are, the Recruitment or Search Firm down the road is doing things completely wrong…

They don’t have enough leads and have little or no idea what they need to do to get more…

They don’t have enough clients and the few clients that they do have mess them about, regularly miss payments, and treat them with very little respect.

And to top it all off… They’re not earning the money they want to earn and they’re frustrated because they don’t know how or what to do to turn things around…

These are the ducks…

Swimming around in a filthy, slimy pond full of problems with no intention of getting out…

Eagles are completely different…

They may have started out with all these problems… But they soon seek out and find a solution…
