He recorded his best-ever month in business

Had a phone call with one of the Recruitment Business Owners I help last week…

His business is relatively new, been going for around 18 months and he enrolled in one of my programs the back end of last year…

April just gone, he recorded his best-ever month in business… Smack bang in the middle of a global pandemic…

And he’s on track to recording a 400% increase in revenue compared to the same time last year…

How?

There are a few key things he did that I think you can learn from…. Here’s the top five:

  1. The results he’s getting now are in large part down to the actions he consistently took back in February. Good months and bad months are almost always a reflection of past behaviour rather than a reflection of current behaviour. What groundwork are you putting in today to ensure your business thrives a few months from now?
  2. Assuming you’re already working hard, to grow your business from where it is now, to where you want it to be isn’t necessarily going to involve you working harder. It’s going to involve you working smarter. You’ll need to put more of your time and attention on the revenue generating tasks and delegate everything else.
  3. When it comes to revenue growth, there are two key things you need to be focusing on. One, getting more meetings with interested Hiring Managers in your market, two, converting more of the meetings into sales. Anything else is noise.
  4. He went all out offensive whilst everyone around him was going defensive. He’s still in touch with the firm he worked for before starting his own business. They stopped, retreated and really struggled (even though they had more resources than he did). He kept going and went even harder. So although they’re in the same market, working with the same type of clients and candidates, their results are completely different.
  5. He has a process that works and stuck to it. Although this sounds obvious, most Recruitment and Search Business owners don’t have a working process for winning new business. They get comfortable working with the handful of clients they have and when those clients stop hiring they don’t know where to turn

These takeaways are relevant no mater what’s going on with the economy…
