I read somewhere recently that it’s one of the best selling books of all time… But just in case you’ve never heard of it…
It’s basically a self-help book that talks about the importance of influencing the people around you and getting them to like you, so they’re more likely to be lead by you and take the action you want them to take…
This, of course, can be useful in making friends, raising kids, attracting members of the opposite sex, and in business too…
It’s actually one of the first personal development books I ever read….
Anyway…
Although all of that stuff is important and perhaps even vital to growing your Recruitment or Search business…
You need to be able to do the opposite too….
You need to be able to lose friends and repel people!
Business isn’t about working with just “anyone” …
And the more successful Recruitment and Search Business Owners I know are just as good at repelling the wrong clients as they are at attracting the right ones…
Get this wrong and you end up working with clients you don’t like (we’ve all been there), you’re resentful, you don’t enjoy it as much and when you don’t enjoy what you do… The results you’re able to get for clients suffer too!
Everyone loses!
Instead, you should be repelling “bad clients” and only hand picking the ones you enjoy working with and who you’re able to get the best results for!
