Well… It finally happened.
As of Monday 20 March at 4:01 PM I became a granddad for the first time.
And I know what you’re thinking…
I look far too young to be a granddad.
And you’re right!
But it’s true. I am now officially Granddad Terry.
This got me thinking back to when I first found I was going to be a dad.
As you might expect… I was both happy and excited.
But almost overshadowing the happiness and excitement… was FEAR!
I was shit scared…. Literally petrified…
And if you’re a parent you can probably relate to this….
Because although having a child is possibly the most rewarding thing you’ll ever do in your life, It’s also probably the biggest responsibility you can ever shoulder…
For 18 years you’re basically in charge of someone else’s life…
They completely rely on you…. Especially in the early years….
It’s a massive commitment!
And more often than not, fear and commitment go hand in hand…
