I can’t lie to you,
It’s been a tough week for me.
For no other reason than I took two weeks off over Christmas and this first week back has been somewhat of a shock to the system.
I bet it’s been the same for most people.
I’ve been working slower, not as productive, forgetting to do things… I’ve just been off the pace.
It’s not that I don’t enjoy what I do… I love it in fact.
It’s just that my mind and body have relaxing this past couple of weeks and it’s taking longer than I expected to get back into the swing of things.
I’m sure I’ll be back to normal by next week… it’s just something I’ve had to go through.
Going from eating junk food and watching old movies, to firing at all cylinders in the office is going to take a period of adjustment.
And it’s the same with any change in behaviour,
Even if it’s something you’d previously done before, after a couple of days or even a couple of weeks off, it can take a while to get back to normal…
I go to the gym or exercise most days, so I would consider myself fit… But if I take a few days break from training, I definitely feel it when I get back in the gym.
I’m slower, more sluggish, can’t lift as heavy… But then after a day or so I’m back to normal, and the new habits have kicked in,
No matter what it is, a change in behaviour will always be uncomfortable and even painful at first…
