Almost every one of the Recruitment and Search Firm owners I work with share the same fear…
And I must admit… It’s a fear I suffer from too from time to time…
It’s the fear putting yourself out there…
You see, when you push your business and push your brand so more of your ideal clients know who you are…
Instead of blending in with everyone else, with no one really knowing you exist…
You immediately become an open target…
Vulnerable to other people’s criticisms and opinions…
People can and will take shots at you… People can and will criticise you. People can and will take issue with the way you’ve chosen to do things (even though it’s none of their business).
It just comes with the territory…
It might be criticism from your competitors, it might be from your potential clients, it might even come from your family and friends… And that can be a scary thought for most people.
It even stops some Recruitment and Search Firm owners doing things to promote their business too heavily…
So how do you avoid it?
You do what most Recruitment and Search Firm owners do and instead of trying to stand out, you focus on blending in. Don’t do anything unique, don’t put yourself out there, don’t scream about how good your services are. Go unnoticed. Be vanilla. Blend in with everyone else…
No one can criticise or take shots at you if they don’t know you exist, can they?
The problem is… If you do this, the potential clients you’re trying to reach won’t know you exist either. And if they don’t know you exist, they can NEVER buy from you…
And if they can never buy from you, you can wave any increase of revenue and profits you were hoping for goodbye, it aint going to happen…
The truth is, if you want success in your Recruitment or Search business, you’re just going to have to get ready to be an open target, you have to be thick skinned and you have to act in spite of fear….
