Stacking shelves

I hate queuing at the best of times…

I get that sometimes it’s necessary… But I’d rather avoid it if at all possible…

And I know a lot of people would agree.

But what REALLY annoys me about queueing is doing so when it’s not necessary…

Picture this…

I pop into my local supermarket (grocery store for my friends across the pond) …

Perhaps I have to grab a carton of milk and some eggs… Nothing major, just topping up on a few essentials…

I go to the checkout to pay… And out of ten possible checkouts, only ONE of them is open…

And I’m the 7th person back in the queue…

To make matters worse… As I made my way round the store, I saw several different members of staff stacking shelves….

Is it just me… Or does it make more sense to have all, or at least most members of staff on the checkouts taking MONEY and leave the stacking of the shelves to a time when the store is less busy.

This or something similar has happened to be numerous times… In a variety of different shops!

And every time it does, I always wonder how the owner would react if they knew this was going on.

How would they react if they knew there were literally people queuing up to buy products but they’re being made to wait…?

Being stood waiting in queues when there’s no good reason for it has actually caused me to return the products back to the shelf and leave on more than one occasion… And I’ve seen other customers do the exact same thing many times…

It’s costing them money!

I know if it was my business… I would want my staff to spend more time selling the products than they did stacking the shelves…

They’re focusing on the wrong things.

I have the same view when it comes to Recruitment and Search Businesses too…

And it’s perhaps it’s less obvious… But Recruitment and Search Firm Owners focus on the wrong thing too… And it’s costing them money.

Here’s the facts… There are only two things that are going to bring money and revenue into your business.

I don’t care what sector you’re in, the size of your business or the state of your market. It’s always the same two things…

1. Marketing

2. Sales

The majority of Recruitment and Search Firm Owners neglect these areas and decide to focus on other things and wonder why they end up with an empty pipeline and feast and famine income.

The answer is screaming you in the face!
