This almost NEVER works…

I’m seeing both newbies and veteran recruiters making this same mistake, so I think it’s worth addressing…

They enter the market with a new business and decide to significantly undercharge for their services hoping to “get their foot in the door” with clients…

I’ve even seen some trainers in the industry recommending this as a strategy…

Perhaps you’ve made this mistake in the past, perhaps you’re still making it, perhaps you were thinking about going down this path in the future…

But the facts are, this almost NEVER works…

A few things to consider…

Do you really think you’re the first person to have this genius and unique plan?

Hint: you’re not!

How did it work out for the thousands of people who tried to do this before you? Are they now dominating your market? Are they even still around?

Hint: They’re not!

Can you win business doing this? Yes… But all you do is end up with crappy clients who care more about low fees than high quality…

Crappy clients cause more headaches which makes your job even harder and less enjoyable…

Crappy clients who with no loyalty who can be stolen from you… because they’re always some other “genius” entering the market willing to work for cheaper…

Low fees, with crappy disloyal clients, means you’re left with literally no profit to play with…

No profit means no cash… And no cash means no growth, no freedom and eventually no business…

Is that what you want?

I can’t tell you how many times per week I speak to a Recruitment and Search Business Owners who thinks this is the answer…

You can get away with this in businesses with high barrier to entry, but in recruitment all you need to compete is a laptop and a phone…

It’s bad enough coming from a veteran recruiter…

But coming from a newbie with no cash and no experience… It’s a death sentence.
