Why don’t you charge a higher fee?
I mean really think about it…
Why don’t you charge more for your Recruitment or Search services right now?
I’ve found when I ask this question to clients, I get one of two answers in various forms…
1. I don’t think my services are worth it
2. I don’t think my clients will pay
We’ll address the first issue another day…
But let’s say you do think your services are worth it, you realise you do a great job for the clients you serve, and you want to raise your fees…
What’s stopping you?
You’ll probably come up with all sorts of seemingly rational reasons as to why you can’t charge more… and I’ve heard them all over the years…
But the truth is, any excuse you have for not raising your fees (assuming you think you’re worth it) is emotional…
The only thing REALLY stopping you… is fear…
Fear of rejection…
Fear of losing clients who aren’t willing to actually pay you what you’re worth..
Fear your competitors will criticise you…
Fear you’ll lose out on business….
It all comes down to fear!
And I’m sure I won’t be the first or the last person you’ll hear this from… but you should never let fear rule your business….
