Something I’ve heard more often than I’d like from Recruitment and Search Firm Owners over the years is that “Marketing doesn’t work”.
Usually coming from someone who has perhaps tried something new once or twice and didn’t get the results they wanted.
It’s a belief you might have, and it could be the reason you haven’t yet claimed your seat at “Lead Genesis.”
Well here’s the thing…
The definition of marketing is simply the action or business of promoting and selling products or services (look it up if you don’t believe me).
It’s literally the act of bringing new clients into your business and chances are you do that now (even if it’s not as often as you like).
And even if you don’t do it personally, there are thousands of people promoting and selling Recruitment or Search right now so I think we can safely say marketing works.
But what these people really mean is, it hasn’t worked as well as they like in the past.
That’s completely understandable.
Most Recruitment and Search Firm Owners have never been shown how to effectively generate new leads and market their business.
And if you’ve never been shown, it’s no wonder you don’t have as many clients as you would like.
And you’d be forgiven for thinking “marketing doesn’t work.”
But the fact of the matter is, it does work… And it’s happening whether you like it not.
It all comes down to how your clients and potential clients view you in the marketplace (or whether or not they even know you exist)
You can’t avoid it; it’s there.
But you do have options,
Because you can either let it just happen.
Make cold calls, use your old contacts and maybe get lucky, win a bit of business here and there, the occasional referral but ultimately NOT get as many clients as you would like (this is what most Recruitment and Search Firm Owners do, and it’s severely limiting the revenue they generate each year)
Or you can take control, rely on strategy rather than luck and attract clients on demand (this is what smart Recruitment and Search Firm Owners do)
The choice is yours to make. But if the latter sounds more appealing to you then the first step is to claim your seat at ‘Lead Genesis‘ while there are still seats available.
